Product description : Panzerkampfwagen I Ausf. B
Only one type of the main German battle tanks of the Second World War was missing from the Tamiya “Military Miniatures 1/35” series: the first of the line, the Panzer I.
Here is this omission repaired, and in the most beautiful way, by this completely new kit reproducing the Panzer I Ausf.B! Although Germany was banned from developing tanks after its defeat in World War I, it designed the Panzerkampfwagen I in the 1930s under the designation "agricultural tractor" to ward off suspicion of rearmament. In the second half of the decade, the Panzer I was produced in large quantities in successive improved versions. The Ausf.B's engine developed 100 hp, almost double the Ausf.A's 57 hp. The hull was also 40 cm longer and the turret housed a pair of 7.92mm MG13 machine guns. The Panzer I was used for the first time in Spain during the civil war and then more widely during the invasion of Poland, France and on the Eastern Front.
• Model to assemble and paint scale 1/35. Length: 123mm, height: 60mm.
• The compact and complex shapes of the Panzer I Ausf.B are perfectly reproduced based on an intensive study of a real vehicle.
• Tracks made up of independent injected plastic sections and pads.
• One-piece side mudguards with realistic reproduction of the non-slip surface.
• Meticulously detailed upper hull and turret.
• Exhaust protection in photo-etched metal for even more realism.
• Captain figurine (torso) to be installed in the turret. Choice between beret and cap.
• Three choices of markings covering operations in Poland, France and Russia.
Scale : 1:35
