Model Airways Nieuport 28 - 1917 Eddie Rickenbacker's Favorite Fighter in 1:16 Scale Model Airplane by Model Airways Model Airways (a division of Model Expo, Inc.) went to great lengths to recreate this legendary fighter of the First World War.
We designed our Nieuport 28 from original plans, photographs and restored planes on display in several museums.
The historically accurate model reproduces virtually every detail of the actual aircraft.
The open frame allows for authentic details and shows the intricacies of the construction.
The Model Airways Nieuport 28 Airplane Kit contains over 190 pieces of laser-cut lime and birch plywood for ribs, fuselage and other wood components.
Hundreds of finely cast Britannia metal, copper, aluminum, brass and rubber parts make up the instrument panel, fuel tank, turnbuckles, fins, struts, compression bar, stabilizers , machine guns, wheels, tires and more.
A perfectly sized rotary engine - complete with cylinders, distributor, spark plugs and crankcase - is also assembled from Britannia metal castings.
Three blueprints and an explicitly illustrated step-by-step instruction manual will help novice and expert modelers to achieve a museum-quality model.

Scale : 1:16
The scale 1:16 is used for large figurines, but also for model cars and armored vehicles.
A 1:16 scale model will be 16 times smaller than the original.
For example, a car whose actual length is 4m will be 10 inches / 25 cm long in the 1:16 scale (400/16 = 25).
The figurines in the scale 1:16 are about 5 inches / 12cm high.

To build a plastic model airplane, you'll need a few things :
- a cutter or cutting pliers
- and model glue.
You can also paint the model with brushes(acrylic or enamel).
The model consists of different parts to cut and assemble.
Construction time will vary depending on the number of parts.
