Building model kit Statue of Liberty
The Statue of Liberty (Liberty lights up the world) is a colossal neoclassical sculpture that stands on Liberty Island in New York Harbor, United States.
The 93-meter-high copper statue, designed by French sculptor Auguste Bartholdi and built with the engineering support of Gustave Eiffel (the creator of the tower of the same name) was unveiled on October 28, 1886 and was a gift to the United States from the people of France.
The statue, a female figure dressed in a long tunic, represents Libertas, the Roman goddess. She holds a flashlight with her right hand and with her left holds a tabula ansata on which is engraved the date of the American Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776.
A broken chain sits at his feet. The statue, an icon of freedom, has been a welcome sight for immigrants arriving from abroad.
