How do you choose your first RC car? What scale should you choose? These are essential questions for anyone wanting to get started in this hobby, because there are so many models to choose from, and it's true that it's not always easy to find your way around!
Above all, a question of scale, but not only that
The first question to ask is the scale, since depending on the use you plan for your buggy, the scale will not be the same. There are 6 different scales: 1/5, 1/8, 1/10, 1/16, 1/18 and 1/24. But the most common scales are 1/8 and 1/10.
The number of driven wheels can also be important: 2-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive will not have the same impact in terms of roadholding.
Finally, 4 types of car exist: the buggy, more for speeding or track driving, the truck (or monster truck) to focus on obstacle clearance, the truggy which is a mix between the buggy and the monster truck for a good compromise between clearance and speed, and the track cars which require a flat playing area.
