Die cast aircraft Dewoitine D.520 II/18 Saintonge
All-metal fighter plane, it made its first flight Oct.
2, 1938.
Equipped with a Hispano-Suiza 12Y45 engine of 935 horses which gave it a maximum speed of 534 km / h and armed with four machine guns in the wings 7.5mm and a 20mm cannon, the aircraft rivaled the German fighter Messerschmitt .
Built with too often malicious and wait for it to play a decisive role in the beginning of war.
It equipped only 4 fighter groups during the Armistice of June 1940.
The device is colored group of Saintonge II/18 Doret 44/45.
750 copies were produced, despite orders surpluses in 2250 copies.
